Healthcare Innovation Projects
We develop revolutionary solutions in new application areas working synergistically in projects co-financed by the European Union.
The HeAL9000 project proposes the creation of a “Service Robot” in the Healthcare area. It sets out to develop a platform that offers cognitive abilities in a Robot capable of: (i) learning information through the perception of the environment in which it works, (ii) interacting with people and things so that it can look after patients in a natural way, (iii) monitoring events and actions to be activated in the event of specific cases.
The purpose of the CareGenius project is to develop a new IT suite that transforms the large volume of health data available, including in textual form, in company databases and in electronic health records, into actionable knowledge in the provision of healthcare, in research and in governance of healthcare systems. By applying Natural Language Processing (NLP), Big Data and Analytics/AI technologies to the healthcare segment, tools will be developed to support clinical and managerial staff for care management, diagnostic and treatment pathways, prevention and strategic planning.
The SI-ROBOTICS project aims to conceive and develop new solutions in the field of ICT assistive robotic technologies to support the provision of healthcare services. The scientific objective of SI-ROBOTICS is to design and implement easily adaptable technological solutions to help the elderly in their daily activities and to assess the progress of their physical and cognitive decline (fragility, dementia, mild cognitive impairment). This makes it possible to identify specific challenges for early diagnosis, objective assessment, therapy control and rehabilitation. Innovative robotics concepts and solutions will be introduced to anticipate user needs and provide assistance, monitoring and coaching.
The aim of the INSTAMED project is to create an integrated hardware and software platform for standardization and advanced automation, through IoT (Internet of Things) and / or CPS (Cyber-Physical Systems) technologies, of the processes of diagnosis, care and surgical treatment with a personalized medicine perspective.
The BIOMIS project envisages the establishment of the first Italian biobank of intestinal microbiota and human saliva with the aim of carrying out research activities aimed at identifying the relationships between microbiota and pathologies and testing innovative therapeutic approaches involving the transplantation of human microbiota in patients affected by specific diseases in order to modulate the patients' microbiota and restore the healthy one.
“Big Data” and imaging genomics for the development of innovative biomarkers and nanovector drugs to diagnose and treat inflammatory processes in dementia BigImAGING.
