Exprivia, in partnership with a global player in technology and healthcare, has successfully completed the implementation of the RIS-PACS Project for the Don Gnocchi Foundation, revolutionising the radiology infrastructure of eight centres in five Italian regions.
This project represents a decisive step towards more efficient and safer digital health, responding to the growing need for innovation in the health sector.

The Don Gnocchi Foundation is one of Italy's leading rehabilitation and healthcare organisations, operating through 25 residential centres and 28 outpatient clinics in 9 regions. With the new RIS-PACS system, the Foundation has taken a major step forward in the digitisation and optimisation of its clinical processes.

The RIS-PACS project

The RIS-PACS Project was developed with the aim of optimising the management of radiological images and medical reporting. The main challenge was to integrate a single cloud-based system, enabling the facilities of the Don Gnocchi Foundation to manage radiological data and distributed reporting in an integrated manner, thereby streamlining medical expertise for the benefit of all FDG patients.

Cloud Solutions for Collaborative Integration and Referencing

The solutions adopted in the project led to significant results:

  • Single Cloud Platform - A cloud platform has been implemented, unifying the radiology image management system (PACS) and the radiology information management system (RIS).

  • Clinical Systems Integration - The system was integrated with existing clinical systems, such as CUP/ADT, MPI and LDAP, ensuring efficient and secure data management. In addition, the system was prepared to be compliant with the single national FSE 2.0 standard

  • Increased Productivity - Due to the reduction of human errors and improved data quality, there has been an increase in productivity and a reduction in clinical risk.

  • Collaborative Reporting - Efficient distributed reporting allows doctors from different locations to collaboratively access and report, improving service to thousands of patients.

Benefits of RIS-PACS implementation

The implementation of RIS-PACS has led to a significant improvement in the quality of healthcare. Immediate and secure access to radiological data has optimised workflows, reducing waiting times for patients and increasing operational efficiency. Thanks to these innovations, the Don Gnocchi Foundation has been able to offer a more responsive and collaborative service, further enhancing its ability to respond to clinical needs.

A new model of healthcare innovation with RIS-PACS

The RIS-PACS Project has not only modernised the radiological infrastructure of the Don Gnocchi Foundation, but has also established a model of healthcare innovation that can be replicated in other realities.

Exprivia confirms itself as a strategic partner in the digitalisation of the healthcare sector, helping to ensure more efficient and safer care for patients.
